Tom & Alexis Keen - January 8, 2013 859 viewsMy wife and I were driving home from Florida after visiting her parents for the holidays and we ended up staying at the Hyatt Regency in Louisville Kentucky. It was funny because it was probably a 1 in 30 chance that we ended up at that hotel because we used Priceline to book it so we didn't get to choose where we stayed.
We were up in our room and looking on the Facebook page when we realized Big Ben, Brett Keisel, and Merril Hodge were in the area at the ATA Show. We decided to get dressed and walk around the hotel a bit, never thinking we would run into them. We walked down to the lobby and lterally two minutes later Big Ben walked in the front door.
Being huge Steelers fans for 25 years, my wife and I were totally stoked! I called out to him that I would love to get a picture with him and he hollered over to me, "Let's do it"!
We were so excited that night we could hardly sleep. Thank you so much Ben for stopping for us to get a picture and to make such an awesome memory.
Congratulations to you and your wife on having Ben Junior and much luck next year. Hopefully you can bring home number seven -- Tom Keen

Tony Gregory624 views"He passed away three years ago. Tony was the biggest Steelers fan ever. We put my brother-in-law's Big Ben jersey in his casket. I know that up in heaven Tony watches over the Steelers, and he has Ben's jersey with him for eternity." -- Tony's sister, Robyn Gregory.
"He owned Ben's, Hines' and Jerome's jerseys, several t-shirts and several sweatshirts. He always requested them for birthdays and Christmas. He would always go with Dustin to Westys ( bar at the bowling alley) to watch Steeler games and drink his sodas." -- Tony's sister, Marla Gregory Richardson

First day of camp - July 31, 20101384 viewsFrom fan Tracy Pruden:
Good Morning Erin!
Had a wonderful weekend in Pittsburgh. Seeing Ben come out and practice made the 6-hour drive worth it. He looked great and refreshed. I was happy to hear and see all the fans cheering his name. I was able to get a high-five and an autograph from him. He's such a sweetheart, signing autographs, talking and taking pictures with the fans. He was standing right in front of me signing autographs and I wanted so bad to say something to him but the words wouldn't come out. All I could do was smile. He stepped in a small water puddle while shoeless and ask if anyone had a size 14 shoe they could lone him and my hubby took his shoe off and said to Ben, "I got a size 15 you can have", Ben chuckled.
I purchased a 2011 Steelers Team calendar which several of the guys signed for me. I was able to get Hines and Ben's autograph for their specific month. What a way to kick off the 2011 year then with Mr.January aka Ben Roethlisberger.
This was our second year in a row attending training camp and as far as Ben goes, nothing has changed. He's still a great guy and a people pleaser. I want people to know how humble he is. He doesn't mind signing autographs or taking pictures for the fans. He was one of the last players to leave the practice field on Saturday evening from signing all the autographs. He did all he could to sign every autograph request. I could name a few players that didn't even acknowledge the fans.
I figured certain individuals would say that Ben was doing all the autograph signing and picture-taking to get "in good" with the public. BUT, that is not the case. Ben didn't start mingling with the public overnight, he's been doing it. As I said, I was at training camp in August of last year and watched Ben sign autographs and give fans high-fives. I also saw him address the media with a smile on his face as he answered their pointless questions.
*Thank you so much to Tracy (and her husband for snapping the photo!)

Although we live in Las Vegas, we're from Pittsburgh and among some of the biggest Steelers fans you'll find. My dad also wanted to say sorry he crushed your knees on the plane with his seat back while one the plane. -- Michael Sharapan

Training Camp, 2017 - Thank you Ben, Part I510 viewsFrom Vince Rubino:
A colleague offered us family passes and we accepted. My son was the only person sitting at the doors where the players exit to the hill down to the field. Some players gave Carlo a ‘high five’, but Ben was the one who noticed him sitting there wearing a #7. He turned around and said, “How are you big guy?”. Ben was incredibly nice. If that didn’t make Carlo’s day!!
